fleurdelisBoy Scouts of America (BSA) works to build character in young people through through a fun, dynamic program filled with a variety of activities.  BSA is open to all boys from first grade through age 18.  At the end of fifth grade, boys “bridge” up from cub scouts to boy scouts.  Participants can join at any time.  Most units meet once a week during the school year.  The older boys have weekend outings, as well, such as camping, hiking, etc.  Boys who have finished fourth grade or higher are eligible to attend summer camp.  Frederick County is in the Nations Capital Area Council and is served by two Boy Scout districts:  Appalachian Trail District and Catoctin Mountain District.  The following links provide contact information for all the units (cub scout packs and boy scout troops) in these two districts:  AT Units and CM Units.
